The “Fact” daily writes:
Several members of the Composers’ Union of Armenia have contacted the “Fact” newspaper, informing them that the Dilijan Creative House of the Composers’ Union will be leased to a foreign company for a long term. The goal is to make it possible to operate the Creative House, carry out renovations, and for the Union to have money, and in general, to prevent the Creative House from being demolished or destroyed. However, the composers are concerned about whether, first, the Creative House will lose its primary importance, and second, whether they will be able to continue to fully enjoy the privileges they have. We had already sent a written request to the Composers’ Union of Armenia on July 31, asking for clarification on this and several other issues, but we have not received a response.
We contacted the President of the Union, Aram Satyan, who confirmed in an interview with us that they had received the request, but would not respond, since there was nothing to answer.
He only mentioned that what we asked about is not some sensational secret, the issue has been discussed in the union’s board, there is simply nothing to answer the question, because although there is an idea, as well as a certain process, at the moment there is no objective, tangible result, and if there is, they will inform in the appropriate manner. At the same time, Mr. Satyan added that whatever the process, in any case, the members of the union will not lose their privileges. Mr. Satyan did not answer other questions, repeating that it is pointless to talk about something that does not yet exist.
