Today, the government approved the draft law "On Ratifying Conventions on the Peaceful Settlement of International Disputes" adopted in The Hague.
"The court provides access to mechanisms for international cooperation, preservation and development of international law, as well as peaceful settlement of disputes within the framework of established legal norms, so it is necessary to proceed with the process of the Republic of Armenia's membership in the Permanent Court of Arbitration," said the justification of the decision.
For the ratification of the conventions, the decision of the Constitutional Court of Armenia is necessary regarding the compliance of the obligations stipulated in the said conventions with the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia.
It should be noted that two interstate disputes and one investment dispute under various international agreements are currently being examined in the Court of Armenia with participation.
