Neymar out of action with new injury

The recovery time for the Brazilian footballer Al-Hilal Neymar from a new injury will be up to one and a half months, according to the official account of the Saudi club on the social network X. On Monday, November 4, Al-Hilal defeated the Iranian Esteghlal at home in the Asian Champions League match with a score of 3:0. Neymar appeared on the pitch in the 58th minute but needed to be substituted late in the match. The Brazilian was holding his thigh as he left the field. Prior to this, he spent a year recovering from an injury to the cruciate ligaments of the knee. On Wednesday, the striker underwent an in-depth medical examination, which revealed that he had a torn hamstring. The rehabilitation period for the 32-year-old Brazilian will be from four to six weeks. Previously, the team's head coach Jorge Jesus said that Neymar would miss at least two weeks. Neymar was out of action last fall, suffering a torn cruciate ligament in his knee and a torn meniscus. The forward was expected to return to the field no earlier than January 2025. However, in September, the Brazilian announced that he had started training in the general group. On October 21, Neymar made his first appearance on the field, coming on as a substitute in the 77th minute of the Champions League match against Al Ain from the UAE. In total, after recovery, the Brazilian spent 42 minutes on the field over two games. Previously, the Brazilian publication UOL reported that Al-Hilal is considering the possibility of terminating the contract with Neymar in January next year after assessing his physical and clinical condition. The Saudi club acquired Neymar from the French Paris Saint-Germain for 90 million euros in August 2023.
