The import of flowers from Armenia to Georgia reached a historical maximum in May

In May 2026, Georgia recorded a record volume of flowers imported from Armenia. This is evidenced by the data of the Statistical Service of Georgia, analyzed by TASS.

During the month, 218.2 tons of flowers and buds were imported into the country with a total value of 749.9 thousand dollars. This is 2.9 times more than in May 2025. Compared to April 2026, the volume of supplies increased by 89%, reaching a historical maximum. The previous record was recorded in March of this year and was 128.9 tons.

At the same time, according to statistics, flowers imported from Armenia were not sent for re-export. In May, Georgia did not deliver this category of goods to foreign markets.

In general, the country imported 341.7 tons of flowers in May. In addition to Armenia, deliveries were made from Ecuador (89.3 tons), the Netherlands (23.8 tons), as well as from Kenya, Turkey, China, South Africa, and Italy, totaling less than 10 tons.

Against the backdrop of increased imports, earlier restrictions were introduced by Rosselkhoznadzor. Since May 22, the supply of flowers from Armenia has been banned. Later, from May 30, the import of fresh vegetables and greens (tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, green crops, strawberries) from the country was temporarily limited, from June 2, stone and other fruits (cherries, cherries, apricots, plums, peaches, nectarines), grapes, and from June 3, seed crops, eggplant, potatoes and dried fruits.
