Sleeping naked can help you fall asleep faster and improve the quality of your rest by naturally cooling your body, National Sleep Foundation spokesman Joseph Dzerzhewski told CNN.
He explains that for healthy sleep, it is important for your body temperature to drop by about one degree. This activates the body's natural sleep mechanisms. One way to speed up this process is to avoid wearing thick clothes at night or choose the lightest nightgown made of thin fabrics.
The specialist notes that the optimal temperature of the bedroom should be around 18-19 degrees Celsius. Good ventilation and moisture wicking bedding are also important to avoid interfering with cooling through sweating. If your hands or feet are cold, it is recommended to warm them before going to bed. this helps the body redistribute heat more quickly.
"Body temperature during sleep also affects your health. For example, overheating can negatively affect testosterone production in men, especially if you wear tight underwear.' "Also, sleeping naked can have psychological benefits. "Skin-to-skin contact between partners promotes the production of oxytocin, a hormone associated with bonding and stress reduction," Dzerzhevsky explained.
