US Secretary of State Marco Rubio provoked a negative reaction from his European colleagues at the G7 foreign ministers' meeting when he did not answer their questions about efforts to settle the situation around Iran and end the crisis, reports the Financial Times, citing two diplomats.
"During the G7 foreign ministers' meeting last week, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was pressured by his European counterparts to provide detailed information on possible measures to resolve the crisis or achieve a ceasefire in the Iran situation. His lack of specific answers was perceived negatively," the newspaper quoted diplomats as saying.
On February 28, the US and Israel began striking targets in Iran, including Tehran. Iran retaliated against US military targets in Israel and the Middle East.
