Hungary's energy ministry has ordered the release of 250,000 tons of crude oil from strategic reserves after Kiev's actions halted oil supplies through the Druzhba pipeline, according to a decree published in the government's official gazette.
"In order to ensure an uninterrupted supply of liquid motor fuel of sufficient quality and quantity to Hungary, the Hungarian Hydrocarbon Reserve Development Association shall release 250,000 tons of crude oil from strategic crude oil reserves," the decree said.
It is noted that the Hungarian oil and gas company MOL, which has priority access to the reserves, is obliged to restore the released amount of oil until August 24.
