The court summoned the president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio Tapia, for questioning regarding the non-payment of social security payments, TN reports.
"Judge Diego Amarante summoned AFA president Claudio Tapia and association treasurer Pablo Tovinho for questioning in connection with non-payment of social security contributions.
They are also prohibited from leaving the country," the message states. Tapia's interrogation will take place on March 5. Prosecutors previously accused him of failing to pay more than $13 million in social security payments. In December 2025, a corruption scandal related to AFA broke out in Argentina.
Suspicions centered on high-ranking officials, the head of the organization, Claudio Tapia, his confidante, Pablo Tovinho, and the organization's deputy director of finance, Luciano Nakis.
