Poland called on its citizens to leave Iran immediately

On Thursday, February 19, Prime Minister Donald Tusk called on all citizens of Poland to leave Iran, after US President Donald Trump again hinted at possible military action against the Islamic regime.

"Everyone in Iran should leave the country immediately, and under no circumstances should anyone plan to travel to that country," Tusk told reporters.

"The possibility of an outbreak of a sharp conflict is very real, and within a few hours or even a few tens of hours evacuation may become impossible," said Tusk.

This is the second time in recent months that the Polish government has called on its citizens to leave the country.

The US is massing military forces near Iran, including warships, fighter jets and tanks, thus preparing the ground for a possible protracted military campaign against Iran if Trump gives the order.
