Europe needs a new economic strategy, Orban said

A new European strategy is needed to save the EU economy, said Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

"We need someone who, with the help of a new economic strategy, will save the EU economy. It will not be Hungary. Only large countries (European countries - ed.) can do this. Multipolarity is good. But when I look at the bills for gas and electricity, then I understand that we need to be smarter with this, and not on the topic of a multipolar system,” said the head of the Hungarian government, speaking on Thursday evening in Vienna at the “Peace in Europe” discussion.
organized by the Swiss publication Weltwoche.

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder also took part in the event. The discussion took place in the center of the Austrian capital, in the Sophia Hall, where about 500 spectators gathered.
