The recalculation of the votes of the elections in Georgia confirmed the data of the CEC

The partial recount of the ballots for the parliamentary elections in Georgia has confirmed the victory of the ruling "Georgian Dream" party. According to "Armenpress", this was reported by the AFP agency, citing the Central Electoral Commission of the country. The CEC statement says that in 12% of the polling stations, where 14% of voters voted, the recount of ballots "did not lead to a significant change in the official results announced earlier."

Summary records "changed only slightly" in 9% of the recounted polling stations, the report said. Recounting of votes took place on October 29. Precincts for the recount were chosen by lot. On October 30, the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia announced that it had launched an investigation into the statements of the president of the country, Salome Zurabishvili, and representatives of the opposition regarding the falsification of the parliamentary elections. Zurabishvili was called to the department to give explanations.
