Kim Jong Un has confirmed the launch of a ballistic missile by North Korea

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has confirmed the DPRK's intercontinentalballistic missile (ICBM) launchand to say that it shows the determination to confront its enemies, reports South Korea's Yonhap agency, citing North Korean state media.

According to the agency, Kim Jong-un said that "the launch of ICBMs shows the determination to confront the enemies" who accused him of escalating the situation in the region. He also said that "nothing will change" the DPRK's policy to strengthen the country's nuclear potential.

"These test launches are adequate military operations that fully correspond to the adversaries who have recently deliberately escalated the situation in the region and posed a threat to the security of our Republic," Kim Jong-un said. This was reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
