The doctor noted that it is important to regularly consume foods rich in vitamin C and rutin to maintain the elasticity of blood vessel walls. Among them, the cardiologist mentioned citrus fruits, rosehips, black currants, sea buckthorn, kiwi, bell pepper, buckwheat and greens (parsley, spinach, dill or coriander).

Savina also recommended including foods containing vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant and prevents the oxidation of "bad" cholesterol and its accumulation on the walls of blood vessels.
