The first group of pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the United States has completed training to fly F-16s

The first group of Ukrainian pilots has completed training in the management of American F-16 fighter jets in the US state of Arizona. This was reported by POLITICO. According to the publication, Captain Erin Hannigan, press secretary of the Arizona National Guard, said that the pilots received training at the 162nd base of the US Air Force in Tucson. He did not specify the number of Ukrainian military personnel trained at the base due to security concerns. Completing the training is a critical step toward getting F-16s into the skies over Ukraine, Hannigan said. According to POLITICO's source, the Ukrainian pilots are now on their way to Europe for additional training. Ukrainian pilots arrived in Arizona in small groups. The first group of four pilots started training at the end of October. Four more pilots arrived at the end of January. The National Guard reported that it plans to train 12 Ukrainian Air Force pilots by the end of the current fiscal year. Ukraine is expected to receive more than 60 F-16 fighter jets from Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands and Belgium.
