Melania Trump's appearance on the stage during her husband's rally in New York shocked the public, the New York Post reports.
The publication notes that the former first lady of the United States has so far never spoken during Trump's current election campaign, only occasionally participating in private events.
It is noted that after the assassination attempt against her husband in Pennsylvania, she did not even speak at the rally in Milwaukee.
Appearing in public in New York, Melania Trump spoke to cheers from the crowd about the decline in the quality of life in the city in recent years.
"We are happy that my beautiful woman has joined us," said Trump, who went on stage amid loud applause, hugged his wife and kissed her, NYP writes.
The US presidential elections will take place on November 5. The Democratic Party will be represented by Vice President Kamala Harris, and the Republican Party by Donald Trump.
