Zakharova responded to Zurabishvili’s words about Georgia’s subordination to Russia

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova in her Telegram channel commented on the words of Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili about the subordination of the republic to Russia.

Speaking about the results of the parliamentary elections in the country, Zurabishvili said that she did not recognize the results of the vote, in which the pro-Russian ruling Georgian Dream party won.

“This is the same as recognition of Russia’s entry here, the subordination of Georgia to Russia. I didn’t come to the country for this. This is not what our ancestors lived for, and we will not accept it. No one can take away Georgia’s European future,” the president said.

She also called the vote “total fraud” and called on the people of the country to participate in a peaceful protest.

According to Zakharova, Washington deprived the EU countries of a European future when it collapsed the economies of the association countries, lured away their flagship businesses and flooded them with migrants.

“I have a question for Zurabishvili: why is the Georgian future worse than the European one? Georgia, let me remind the French citizen, is older than France,” the diplomat wrote.

She called the belief that the EU could “bless someone with a ‘European future’” stupid.

Earlier, Tbilisi refused to restore diplomatic relations with Moscow.
