Kazakhstan intends to join the Abraham Accords on the normalization of relations with Israel, Axios reports, citing its sources.
Kazakh President Kasim-Jomart Tokayev is expected to announce the relevant decision during a meeting with his American counterpart Donald Trump at the White House.
As the portal notes, despite the fact that diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Israel were established more than 30 years ago, such a move aims to "give a new impetus to the Abraham Accords as an American initiative to strengthen Israel's cooperation with Arab and Muslim countries" and to show that it is "a club that many countries want to join."
The American administration has repeatedly emphasized that it is trying to ensure that, first of all, Saudi Arabia joins the Abraham Accords.
