Erdogan announced Putin's desire to establish a ceasefire in Ukraine

The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, stated that during the negotiations with Vladimir Putin, he saw that the Russian leader was trying to establish a ceasefire in Ukraine.

"We made sure that Mr. Putin also seeks a permanent ceasefire. This was already confirmed by our Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during their meeting in Istanbul," the Turkish President told reporters on the plane returning from Kazan.

Yesterday, at the press conference following the BRICS summit, Putin, speaking about the prospect of peace talks with Ukraine, noted that the Kiev regime does not want it, perhaps because it is not ready to lift martial law and hold presidential elections. However, the Russian leader added that "the ball is in their court".
