Aliyev thanked Putin for inviting him to the BRICS summit


Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for inviting him to the BRICS summit in Kazan and congratulated him on his successful presidency of the organization.

"First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, for the invitation, taking advantage of this opportunity, I would like to congratulate the Russian Federation on the successful chairmanship of the BRICS," said Aliyev, speaking at the summit.

According to him, Azerbaijan is "an active supporter of the principle of multilateralism" in international relations. Aliyev also stated that "all sections of the East-West and North-South transport corridors are successfully operating on the territory of Azerbaijan."
