France will allocate 100 million euros to support Lebanon

France intends to allocate 100 million euros to help the Lebanese. This was announced by the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, during the international conference in support of Lebanon in Paris.

"The UN requested 426 million euros for Lebanon, France will allocate 100 million euros," said the French leader, whose speech was broadcast on page X of the Elysée Palace.

He also added that France "will contribute to the supply of the Lebanese army". In addition, according to the president, Paris welcomes the plan to recruit 6,000 additional soldiers in the Lebanese armed forces.

Macron called for an "urgent ceasefire and to allow all refugees to return to their homes". "I regret that Israel continues its military operations in Lebanon, in the south of the country, in Beirut and beyond, while the number of civilian casualties is increasing," he said.

Earlier, the German authorities announced the allocation of 60 million euros to help Lebanon.
