The General Prosecutor's Office demands from Vigen Sargsyan to confiscate the residential area in the USA, the real estate in Yerevan and funds


On May 15, 2024, the anti-corruption court accepted another lawsuit filed by the General Prosecutor's Office regarding the confiscation of property of illegal origin. As "Armenpress" learns from the message issued by the General Prosecutor's Office, the Department for Confiscation of Illegally Originated Property presented a request to the court for the RA Defense to confiscate from former minister Vigen Sargsyan and a person related to him: 1 real estate in the center of Yerevan, and in case of impossibility, the average market value of the property: 181 million 125 thousand drams. The residential area in the state of Massachusetts, USA, and in case of impossibility, the cost of acquiring the property: 2 million 50 thousand 940 million 909 thousand drams equivalent to US dollars. 255 million 454 thousand drams as the balance of illegal funds. 172 million 486 thousand drams, which is not justified by the legal income of a person, has an illegal origin and cannot be confiscated, because it was transferred during the years 2004-2022 is a bona fide acquirer and/or it is not possible to identify, extending the confiscation also to the funds and properties available in commercial banks in the name of L.G. during the joint life.
