On the night of September 7, Russia carried out the largest air attack on Ukraine during the war, hitting the main building of the government in the center of Kyiv. At least four people have been killed and dozens of people were injured in the attack.
This is the first case during the war, when Russian missiles and ATS have damaged the Ukrainian government building. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky stated that the attacks were involved in Zaporozhai, Krivo Rog, Odessa and a number of regions.
He again called on allies to strengthen the country's air defense. In Kiev, residential houses have been damaged, and there have been collapses and fires in several districts, the air troubles lasted more than 11 hours. The Russian side claims that military production facilities and infrastructure were the target of strikes.
The Ukrainian side said that during the attack, 805 ATS and 13 missiles were used, which is an unprecedented number of the large-scale war since 2022. At the same time, the Ukrainian army struck the "Dzuzhba" oil pipeline in the Briank region of Russia, damaging the country's energy system. Western allies strongly condemned the attack, and US President Donald Trump said he was ready to discuss the launch of the second phase of sanctions against Russia.
