On August 30, a tragic incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. At around 17:05, operational information was received that 2 citizens were taken to the "Hrazdan" medical center for medical treatment due to an electric shock in the Zovaber settlement, one of whom died.
As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, criminal and community police officers and investigators at the scene determined that the deceased was 28-year-old Gurgen V., a resident of the Gegharkunik region, and the injured was 27-year-old Arsen B., a resident of the Gegharkunik region, who was in the intensive care unit.
According to the photojournalist, it was also revealed that on August 30, at around 3:40 p.m., Gurgen V. and Arsen B. attempted to fish from the Hrazdan River, which passes through the Zovaber settlement, using a 220-volt power supply, as a result of which they were electrocuted.
A criminal investigation has been initiated into the incident.
