The mother of the 3-year-old girl who died after being taken to the hospital on October 19 claims that the doctors did not perform the necessary examinations and did not pay proper attention to the complaints they presented about the child's health condition.
According to the woman, despite the high fever and weakness, the doctors initially attributed the child's condition to a seasonal viral infection; later, meningitis was recorded as the cause of death in the medical documents. The mother demands a comprehensive investigation of the circumstances of the case.
In an interview with NEWS.am, the girl's mother, Astghik Gevorgyan, said that two to three weeks before the tragedy, her daughter had fallen ill with a high fever and a sore, red throat. After visiting the clinic, the child was prescribed antibiotics. As a result of the treatment, the fever subsided and the redness in the throat disappeared.
However, the child's fever rose again during the night. The parents initially assumed this might be related to teething, but after the doctor's examination, they were advised to take the child to the hospital for more detailed examinations. According to the mother, the doctor also noticed the child's marked weakness.
On October 19, around 15:30 to 16:00, the girl was taken to the hospital. At the time of examination, her temperature was about 39.8 degrees. The doctor noted slight redness in the throat, after which the child was given antipyretic medication.
