"Zhoghovurd" daily writes: "The city government continues to "punish" the opponents. Now it is the turn of Pedro Zarokyan, a member of the "National Progress" faction of the Yerevan Council of Elders. "According to the information of the daily Zhoghovurd, the CP faction of the Yerevan Council of Elders was upset by the activity of the oppositionist Pedro Zarokyan. the city authorities intend to restrain him, it is not excluded that the matter reaches the point of depriving the opposition member of the Council of Elders of his mandate.
According to our information, this issue is being discussed in the CP faction, and it is possible to come up with such an initiative at the upcoming meetings of the Council of Elders. Regarding the information, we turned to Armen Galjyan, the chairman of the "Civil Contract" party of the council of elders, and the latter said: "Pedro Zarokyan's behavior disrupts the process of every session of the Council of Elders, he insults the members present at the session, which is unacceptable. At the moment, we do not have a final decision on depriving him of his mandate, but his behavior should become a subject of discussion, and accordingly we should understand which option we are moving towards." Pedro Zarokyan told us that he also heard something similar, but he doesn't know anything for sure. "If they want to deprive him of the mandate, they should state the reasons. If they are deprived of their mandate for speaking, for raising a problem, let them declare that there is no democracy."
