The head of the Pentagon refused to comment on Zelensky's plan

Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin "did not hint" during his visit to Kiev that the United States would support the key points of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's "victory plan". This is reported by the Associated Press (AP).

"Austin's speech was notable in that it did not contain an invitation for Ukraine to join NATO, nor any indication that the United States might support Kiev's strikes on Russian territory," the agency reported.

The publication notes that there are two weeks left before the presidential elections in the USA, so American officials are trying to "act cautiously". In addition, the head of the White House, Joe Biden, spoke against the measures that could "escalate the conflict and lead to a direct confrontation between the North Atlantic Alliance and the Russian Federation."
