Biden's call to Aliyev

US President Joe Biden called on the head of the Azerbaijani state, Ilham Aliyev, to complete the work on the peace agreement with Armenia this year, the Azerbaijani state agency "AzerTaj" reports, RIA Novosti writes.

"I am happy to see that Azerbaijan and Armenia have made steady progress with the negotiations on the peace agreement, which will normalize the relations between the two countries. Along with ensuring Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the peace agreement will transform the entire region, paving the way for increased trade, investment and ties between Europe and Central Asia.

With the world's attention now focused on Baku for COP29, you have a unique opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to peace to the global community. As you know, the finalization of the remaining points of the peace agreement will require a creative approach and compromise from all sides. But I am sure that you will not hesitate to take advantage of this opportunity, and I call on you to complete the work on the agreement this year," said Biden's letter to Aliyev.
