A man died and a woman was injured in a fire in an apartment in a residential building in Ufa, 150 people were evacuated, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reports on its Telegram channel.
“An apartment on the fifth floor on Admiral Makarovo Street caught fire. The corridors were filled with acrid smoke. Firefighters from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations evacuated 80 residents, and another 70 people went outside on their own,” the department said in a statement.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations clarified that open burning was eliminated on 10 square meters.
“During the fire extinguishing, a deceased person was found. A woman was also injured and was hospitalized. 34 employees and 11 pieces of equipment are working at the scene,” the department added.
The regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations clarifies that the fire occurred in a nine-story building.
