Putin and Abbas will discuss measures to resolve the situation in Gaza

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas plan to exchange views on possible measures to quickly end the bloodshed in the Gaza Strip, the press service of the Russian President reported.

The leaders of the two countries will meet on October 24 on the sidelines of the BRICS summit.

“It is expected to exchange views on possible measures to quickly end the bloodshed in the Gaza Strip and resume the peace process (within the framework - ed.) of the Middle East settlement (MES),” the message says.

The press service also noted that Russia’s position on the BVU topic provides for a political and diplomatic solution to the long-term conflict, within the framework of which an independent Palestinian state should be created, coexisting in peace and security with Israel.
