On the issue of the impeachment of the President of Georgia, the government appeals to the Supreme Court

Georgia's ruling party "Georgian Dream" will submit an application to the Constitutional Court regarding the impeachment of President Salome Zurabishvili, "Alik Media" reports.
The ruling party accuses the President of Georgia of violating sub-item "a" of Article 52 of the Constitution. According to that subsection, the President of Georgia must exercise representative powers in foreign relations with the consent of the government.

Therefore, Georgian Dream claims that President Zurabishvili violated that very clause and did not receive permission from the government. Georgian Dream needs 100 votes to impeach the president. The ruling party plans to resolve the issue in the very first session of the 11th convocation parliament, hoping that it will be able to form a constitutional majority as a result of the elections.
