Bill Gates has compared the threat of AI to nuclear weapons and bioterrorism

Potential threats from artificial intelligence equate this technology to nuclear and biological weapons. Billionaire and founder of the American Microsoft Corporation Bill Gates expressed a similar opinion.

"We have made great progress. [But] there are climate change, nuclear weapons, bioterrorism and artificial intelligence," the British Daily Mirror quoted him as saying, noting that Gates puts these threats on the same level. "I find the pace of artificial intelligence [development] amazing and a little scary," he added. At the same time, Gates acknowledged that artificial intelligence can be used for good purposes, including to facilitate access to education and medical services.
