Doctors have discovered a new blood group near the patient in India

The doctors of the South Carnakra province of India have first recorded a unique blood group in the world for the first time. The discovery was made during the preparations for the 38-year-old patient surgery from the Colar region, according to The New Indian Express.

At first, the woman's blood group was determined as O RH +, which is considered the most common. However, none of the standard O-positive blood samples were convenient for transfusion.

According to the Surgeon of the Color Clinic, doctors found out that the patient's blood was "Panry-Aactive" with all existing test samples. They were unable to find a donor among the woman's 20 relatives.

The operation, after all, was successful and without blood transfusions, but the unusual of the clinical case has attracted the attention of specialists. The samples were sent to Bristol (UK) International Blood Groups Lab and Bangalore Blood Center. After ten months of molecular research, scientists have confirmed the existence of a new CRIB. The unusual clinical case was also presented in the 35th Regional Congress in the International Blood Transfusion Company (ISBT) in June 2025.

Bangalore Blood Center and Indian Medical Studies Board have already begun to make a register of rare blood groups, including a new crib to prove potential bearings. Some experts believe that mutation could occur as a result of marriages between close relatives, which are still used in some parts of India.
