Gevorg Stepanyan, a member of the "Mother Armenia" faction of the Yerevan Council of Elders, posted on his Facebook page, stating that Yerevan needs early elections and a new mayor.

"Dear citizens of Yerevan,

In the Yerevan Council of Elders elections held a year ago, you rejected the "Civil Contract" party. It received a vote of 9 percent of the voters in the capital. But against your will, there was vote theft and usurpation of power. CPC kept the seat through its sister organization and machinations. The result is that Yerevan has been left without power.

1 year has passed since the elections and now even those who voted for CPC hate this city government, because they cannot manage. Yerevan is covered in garbage, under the rain and is mercilessly looted. Soon they want to complete the looting by increasing bus prices up to 3 times.

All this cannot be tolerated and it is necessary to reach an extraordinary election with joint efforts, which the CPC members are afraid of. Every citizen should raise his voice and not allow these 9-percent people to make a fool of him (they probably have much less support now).

These are neither legitimate nor competent. It is necessary to liberate our country from the clutches of the CPC. Let's start with Yerevan. Indeed.
