Trump said the United States wants to produce tanks, not T-shirts

US President Donald Trump has stated that his customs policy aims to promote internal production in the field of tanks, chips, computers, and other technology products, not shoes and covers. Trump noted that the "ignorant textile industry" is not necessary, and that it can be organized in other countries, focusing on large production areas.

The American Clothing and Shoe Association has reiterated that the new customs duties will increase production costs and damage low-income consumers. Trump also threatened to set 50% customs duties on June 1, but recently postponed that term until July 9 for negotiations.

Trump, who often applies to a working class in his campaigns, is trying to implement his promises, promoting imports of imports and encouraging US investments, but the economy remains depending on the international supply chains, Reuters reports.
