There is a risk of cholera outbreak in Lebanon. WHO

One case of cholera has been confirmed in northern Lebanon, where the risk of infection is very high. This statement was made by Abdinasir Abubakar, the representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Lebanon.

"The other day, a case of cholera was confirmed in the north of Lebanon, where the population is not vaccinated. "Since hundreds of thousands of people are fleeing from the south of the country to the north, and they are not protected in any way from this disease, the risk of transmission of the infection is very high," he said.

Abubakar added that the organization is taking measures to control the situation.

Since October 1, Israel has been carrying out a ground operation in the south of Lebanon against the forces of "Hezbollah" and continues the aerial bombardment of the neighboring country, more than 2 thousand people have already died there, and more than a million people have become refugees. Despite the losses, including the command staff, Hezbollah is waging ground battles and has not stopped shelling Israeli territory.
