Iran's oil exports to Russia increased by 12%

The Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran (ICA) reported a 12 percent increase in the value of Iranian non-commodity exports to Russia in the first half of the Iranian calendar year (March 20-September 21) compared to the previous year, Irantoday reported, citing IRNA agency. .

Export weights increased by 20% during the period, the Customs Department of the Islamic Republic of Iran said on Sunday.

According to the report, Iran's non-oil exports totaled US$494 million and weighed 1.3 million metric tons, registering growth of 12% and 20% respectively.

The main exports from Iran to Russia are greenhouse peppers, polystyrene (used to make household items, toys, films, radios, refrigerator casings, car parts, furniture, pipes and other items) and unshelled pistachios, which account for six months' worth of total exports, respectively. 5.9%, 5.8% and 4.9%.

The report states that the Astara customs office located in the northwest of Iran exported 32% of the total output, which is the highest figure at the same time.

According to the ICA report, during the six months of this year, the foreign transit from Russia increased by 17% to the amount of 526 thousand metric tons, and the foreign transit of 56 thousand metric tons to Russia decreased by 18% during the mentioned period.
