Argentine President Javier Milley has confirmed his desire to sign a trade agreement with the United States to eliminate customs duties.
He made a relevant statement after a meeting with US Finance Minister Scott Besent in Buenos Aires.
"We understand the proposal on mutual customs duties prepared by President Donald Trump and are ready to sign a commercial agreement, which will undoubtedly benefit from the United States and Argentina," he said in a joint statement by the presidential administration.
According to Millay, the funds taken by the US administration are aimed at creating more fair conditions for the "many years of commercial imbalance". He also said that Argentina "intends to become a reliable ally of the United States in the region."
