Eduard Hakobyan, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, met prime minister Nikol Pashinyan at the Meghri border checkpoint on April 12. This was reported by the State Revenue Committee.

The Prime Minister and the SRC Chairman toured the construction site of the newly built "State Border" checkpoint, got acquainted with the reconstruction of the Meghri border checkpoint.

The chairman of the State Revenue Committee presented the general program of reconstruction, the planned works and the current stage of construction. The State Revenue Committee said that about 20 percent of the work scheduled for the program has already been implemented.

The program, the total value of which is more than 25 million euros, is implemented with the Armenian government and the EU co-financing. The construction works started in September 2023, the end is scheduled for 2026.

As a result, the new customs border checkpoint in accordance with international standards will be created, which will be full of modern equipment. After the reconstruction, the transposition capacity will increase several times.
