Studying in museums should become an integral part of the curricula of our schools and other institutions. Minister of KGSMS

RA KGSMS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan sent a message on the occasion of the International Day of Tangaras.

The message specifically states:

"Dear citizens, dear representatives of the museum sector,

The International Day of Museums is held this year under the theme "Museums, Education and Research", the purpose of which is to emphasize once again the fact that museums are not just repositories of various episodes of culture and history, but an educational and research environment that needs to be developed. and promote.

Studying and researching in museums should become an integral part of the curricula of our schools and other institutions, because it is difficult to find a more complete and meaningful environment for education than the museum. Developing the museum sector in Armenia in line with these requirements, contributing to the internationalization and cooperation of museums are among the most important priorities.

Many steps have already been taken in this direction, and during the year we will have the opportunity to witness in our various museums joint programs with prestigious museums in international cooperation, new initiatives implemented using various modern tools.

This year, we celebrate the International Day of Museums with new achievements. The RA Law "On Museums" was adopted, which regulates the activities and relations of museums, defines the types and functions of museums, the principles of formation, replenishment, accounting, preservation, use, and safety of the museum collection of the Republic of Armenia.

It is also important that this year, the state has restored the program for replenishment of museum collections, which has not been in operation for years, by which our museums have been given the opportunity to renew their collections with the funds of the state budget. Museum renovation works are also actively underway, thanks to which only last year museums were reopened with new exhibitions in Yerevan and regions (Gevorg Grigoryan's (Gotto) Studio-Museum, Minas Avetisyan's Museum in Jajur, among the branches of the National Gallery of Armenia).

The year is also active with jubilee events. the 125th anniversary of the birth of Yervand Kochar, the 100th anniversary of the birth of Charles Aznavour, Paruyr Sevak, Sergey Parajanov. Therefore, in a number of museums, visitors have the opportunity to get acquainted with the creative heritage of famous intellectuals through various programs.

This year, around 118 museums of Armenia joined the "Night of Museums" pan-European event. For comparison, it should be noted that only 9 museums participated in the event in the first year, 2005. This indicates that the interest in museums is growing year by year, as well as by thousands of visitors.

The International Day of Museums is also a wonderful opportunity to say words of appreciation to the employees of the museum sector, for whom this is a professional holiday.

I congratulate all specialists in the field, who with their dedicated and conscientious work contribute to the preservation and popularization of our rich historical and cultural heritage, and the sustainable development of museums.

I wish fruitful creative activity, endless energy and new professional achievements, and to the citizens preparing to visit the museum, a wonderful day full of new discoveries thanks to the museum environment."
