Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to withdraw peacekeeping forces from the combat zone in southern Lebanon for their own safety.

"I want to appeal directly to the UN Secretary General: the time has come to withdraw UNIFIL (peacekeepers of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon) from Hezbollah strongholds and combat areas... move UNIFIL forces out of harm's way. This must be done now, immediately." Netanyahu said in a video message.
