RPA Chief Henrikh Danielyan writes:
"Aram Harutyunyan, who is in the team of Robert Kocharyan, is another proof of how Nikol Pashinyan supported people who have direct or indirect connection with the second president. The videos spread on the Internet are vivid proof of this, where Aram Harutyunyan is waiting for Nikol Pashinyan in Freedom Square.
Political criticism is important in political life, but only when it happens to the superficial level of conversations heard in taxis.
There is something that does not correspond to your claims that could be revised all over. But I will look at only one point, which is often discussed, Karen Karapetyan's role. You say that he was not subjected to the security, or there was no "instruction" to obey. This is a lie.
Political events should be considered in the context of facts, not speculation and misconception. It is necessary to look at the real facts and are not cleared with the meaningless propaganda.
I will present in detail the part of Karen Karapetyan, the April 2018 events, that the reality is clear to everyone.
Chronology of April events in 2018
On April 12, Acting Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan announces Shant TV that the next day, April 13, the candidacy of RPA President Serzh Sargsyan will run for the post of Prime Minister.
On April 13, at the sitting of the RPA Supreme Body, Karen Karapetyan officially nominated Serzh Sargsyan's candidacy.
At the sitting of the RPA Council in Tsakhkadzor on April 14, Karapetyan again nominates Serzh Sargsyan as Prime Minister, and the party unanimously accepts the decision.
On April 17, the RA National Assembly elects Serzh Sargsyan as Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
On April 23, when Serzh Sargsyan decides to resign, he asks Karen Karapetyan if he was ready to take the post of Prime Minister in this situation. Karapetyan agrees to become a candidate for the RPA Prime Minister.
This conversation was in advance, and if Karen Karapetyan or second president Robert Kocharyan believed that his nomination was impossible, it could be said in an open text. But Karen Karapetyan did not give up responsibility and announced that he was ready to run as a candidate for the RPA Prime Minister.
The sitting of the RPA Supreme Body is taking part in the April 24, which is attended by both Serzh Sargsyan and Karen Karapetyan.
Serzh Sargsyan states that Karen Karapetyan is the candidate for RPA Prime Minister, and that decision is made in the presence of Karen Karapetyan.
At that moment, Karen Karapetyan was the only person to negotiate with Nikol Pashinyan on the situation.
On April 25, during the meeting of the RPA faction, in which both Serzh Sargsyan and Karen Karapetyan were decided again that Karen Karapetyan will remain candidate of the RPA Prime Minister and must run on May 1.
In the presence of Serzh Sargsyan and Karen Karapetyan on April 28, Karen Karapetyan announces that given the established internal political situation, he refuses to run.
On May 1, in Serzh Sargsyan's urging, the RPA votes against Nikol Pashinyan's candidacy
Not only because the RPA was politically opposed to Nikol Pashinyan, but also because he wanted to give other political forces to nominate their candidate.
However, none of other political forces nominate an alternative candidate, and 1/3 of the deputies nominate Nikol Pashinyan.
On May 8, as a result of the threat of civilian clashes, 45 votes gathered in the National Assembly, the RPA, no longer, no longer gave Nikol Pashinyan the necessary 10 votes to avoid chaos and clashes.
PS:
During that period, Karen Karapetyan was the acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and had control over the law enforcement agencies. He was authorized to release any person from the post, to appoint or change without any obstacles. "
