A man was found in the ocean 48 km from the coast on a floating refrigerator after Hurricane Milton

In the Gulf of Mexico, 48 km from the coast, the crew of a US Coast Guard helicopter rescued a man who was clinging to a refrigerator after Hurricane Milton. This is reported by The Guardian. Initially, the man was on board a fishing boat, which broke down several hours before the hurricane made landfall, said Coast Guard spokeswoman Nicole Groll.

Contact with him was lost, but on Thursday searchers found the man clinging to an open refrigerator. “This man survived a nightmare scenario for even the most experienced sailor,” Coast Guard spokeswoman Dana Grady said.
