On February 28, His Holiness His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to the Republic of Armenia to Alessandro Ferrranith in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
Congratulating the Ambassador on assuming the diplomatic mission, the Armenian Apostolic Church wished them a result of further strengthening of the Armenian-Italian friendly relations.
The Catholicos of All Armenians noted that the friendship between the two peoples has deep historical roots, the strengthening of the warm relations between the Armenian Apostolic and Rome Catholic Churches.
In his speech, the Armenian Apostolic was concerned about the continued encroachments of Azerbaijan towards Armenia, the issue of the return of the Armenian prisoners of war in Baku, the policy of destroying and embezzling the spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh.
In this regard, His Holiness significantly noticed the clear position of the international community in condemning and preventing Azerbaijan's economic ambitions.
In his turn, Ambassador Alessandro Ferrrant said with his impressions of Armenia, he assured His Holiness that he would make efforts to further deepen and expand the Armenian-Italian cooperation in various fields.
