Two homeless people stole a backpack from a car parked on the street in the French city of Toulouse. There were documents and wallets with bank cards, one criminals bought a lottery ticket.
According to Interfax, the robbery was reported on February 3, but later it turned out that the purchased ticket was winner. The winner must receive 500 thousand euros, but according to local media, the question has arisen who will receive it.
The 42-year-old man whose backpack was stolen, the police and bank, but the thieves managed to use the nearest store credit card. The employee recalled two suspicious customers who bought cigarettes and lottery tickets. They scratched the protective layer and found out that the ticket was winning. The seller explained that the payment should be made through the national lottery operator.
According to media reports, thieves have never appeared to demand their own profits, and the police say that the lottery operator has blocked the ticket before the investigation continued.
The owner of the bank card approached the thieves, offering to turn to his lawyer. He is ready to share winnings.
"My client is very glad that his credit card has been stolen and is not going to accuse him," he said.
However, the thieves have not yet contacted the man, and according to the lottery conditions, the winning should be gathered until March 5.
