Swedish police have launched a preliminary investigation into subordination, connecting Finland and Germany to underwater telecommunications C-Lion1with the supposed damage to the cable.
Earlier, the SVT TV channel reported the alleged damage to the cable near the Baltic Sea near the Island of Swedish. According to Swedish coastal protection, the cable connects Finland and Germany. C-Lion 1 cable operator Cinia said the supposed damage did not affect communication work.
"Preliminary investigation of sabotage has started to provide the necessary tools to find out the circumstances of the incident," the police spokesman told SVT.
C-Lion 1 cable was previously damaged in November 2024 and December.
