A person displaced from Artsakh must apply for an RA passport after obtaining RA citizenship


From the moment when a forcibly displaced person from Nagorno-Karabakh, who applied for RA citizenship, receives a notification that he was granted RA citizenship by the decree of the RA President, his passport with code "070" becomes invalid, due to which problems may arise in receiving pension and benefits, making bank transactions,in connection with obtaining a visa of another country or traveling abroad. This is reported by the Migration and Citizenship Service.

That is why we urge you to apply for a passport of an RA citizen immediately after receiving the notification. When staying in the Republic of Armenia, it is necessary to report to the Migration and Citizenship Service (Dvtashen, 4th district at 17/10), and in a foreign country, an embassy or a consular institution of the Republic of Armenia.

We remind you that people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh can get RA citizenship through a simplified and accelerated procedure.

For this purpose, it is necessary to apply to the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Yerevan (Davtashen,4th district at 17/10), and in the marzes, regional divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (passport departments). The necessary documents for obtaining RA citizenship are:

1) application-questionnaire (filled in on the spot),2) a valid identity document (passport with code "070"), a copy of it and an ID certificate,

3) 6 photos of size 35 x 45 mm (color),

4) birth certificate and its copy,

5) if the person bears the spouse's surname, the marriage certificate and its copy, as well as a copy of the spouse's passport,

6) 28.11.In 1981 persons born later must also submit copies of their parents' identity documents, their parents' marriage or paternity certificate, or a certificate of single motherhood.

Foreign language documents must be translated into Armenian and certified by a notary.
