The idea of Kiev joining the North Atlantic Alliance is unfeasible. This was stated by US President Donald Trump, speaking at the White House during the swearing-in ceremony of Tulsi Gibbard as the new US Director of National Intelligence.
This is how the US President commented on the statement of the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegsett, that Ukraine's membership in NATO is unlikely.
"That's true. I think long before President Vladimir Putin, Russia said that under no circumstances would it allow this to happen," Trump said.
He also noted that in the "not too distant future" it would be possible to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine. In addition, the president stated that the return of Ukraine to the borders that it had in 2014 is practically impossible.
