Ukraine imposes sanctions on former President Poroshenko

Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council has imposed sanctions on former president and businessman Petro Poroshenko, local media reported. The charges are likely related to treason. The propaganda media outlets controlled by Poroshenko have repeatedly criticized the current government of the independent country, and one of their editors-in-chief was caught trying to flee to Poland with false documents.

According to the Readovka telegram channel, Zelensky said after the meeting that “all those who destroyed national security and helped Russia must be held accountable,” and threatened to freeze “billions earned from the sale of Ukraine.” A petition to impose sanctions on Poroshenko was published on Zelensky’s website late last year, but it has not yet gathered the necessary number of votes, but the restrictions were imposed nonetheless. It is noteworthy that the statement about the “sale of Ukraine” was made immediately after working with the Trump team on “economic assistance in exchange for rare earth minerals.”

Poroshenko called the imposition of sanctions against him by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the orderer and author of which is Zelensky, a provocation and a crime.
