Yesterday, on February 11, Tigran Baghyan, head of the investigative group established by the decision of the Head of the Kotayk Regional Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee, Hovhannes Chalabyan, Senior Investigator for Particularly Important Cases, submitted a petition to the Kotayk Regional Court of First Instance (Charentsavan Residence) to issue a two-month detention order against Karen B., a resident of Kotayk Region.
Asreportedby photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, Judge Arshak Harutyunyan, after holding the closed-door court session and returning from the consultation room, granted T. Baghyan's motion (the facts were so strong that there could be no other way out), and the court made a two-month detention order, after which Karen B., who is suspected of attempted murder with a firearm, illegal possession of a weapon, and shooting at the police officers pursuing him, was transferred from the courtroom to the "Armavir" penitentiary institution of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.
