A strong explosion occurred in the south of Beirut

The Israeli strikes were mainly concentrated on the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Israel continued an intensive campaign of airstrikes throughout Lebanon, during which several strikes were carried out on the southern suburbs of Beirut and one on the city center.

According to Danny Danon, Israel's ambassador to the UN, Israel's operation in Lebanon continues as the country's leaders consider their response to Iran's long-range attack on Tuesday, during which hundreds of rockets were fired at the country.

Iran declared that the unprecedented attack was a response to the wave of murders committed by Israel over the past few weeks against Hezbollah, including its leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Sirens wailed all over Israel, and some citizens were strongly advised to seek refuge in protected zones. Most of the rockets were intercepted, but "some hits were identified and the damage is estimated," said the representative of the Israeli security service.

According to Pentagon Major General Pat Ryder, the USA launched missiles to help Israel defend itself from a missile attack.
